Fallkniven NL5 Idun with Leather Sheath
In Norse mythology, Idun was the goddess of fertility, and responsible for guarding the apples that ensured the gods eternal youth. To many, she was also a symbol of love and rebirth, and in a poem she was referred to as the lover of the gods (ása leika). Unlike earlier MODels in the Northern Lights series, NL5 is a little rounder and softer in form, and therefore an excellent choice as a hunting knife. The straight, fairly generous grip in leather gives complete control over the powerful blade in laminate VG10 steel, and makes the knife a tool as attractive as it is effective in the hands of the experienced hunter.We can now present a world first as regards the blade - it's in laminated VG10 steel, where the edge is made of our now renowned VG10 steel and the sides consist of tough, all-stainless 420J2 steel. This combination is unquestionably the best, since it brings together all conceivable and desirable properties such as resilience, resistance to torque and edge-durability in a single blade. With laminate technology one can expect an additional 20% strength in the form of resistance to bending, as compared to an ordinary VG10 blade.

PXLx is a further development of our big seller PXLwh, the work horse in the PXL series. To make this knife even more versatile, we have added a strong pocket clip. Its a robust, strong, lightweight and extremely reliable folding knife in the larger size range. The blade is made in our laminated cobalt special steel and it brings an unlikely sharpness that will last longer than you think. The blade locks in open position with a proven liner-lock system. Because of the small thumbstud on the blade, it folds easily using one hand only. That is very useful when you have to stick to yourself or another thing with the opposite hand. The handle is also made with a material called grilon and is considered to be among the most reliable of all plastics.
