About Bear OPS Bear Song IV Small Butterfly Knife Aluminum (3.25" Black) B-450-B
This is a smaller version of the Bear Song IV butterfly knife, which was a collaboration between BladeRunnerS (BRS) and Bear OPS. The B-450 fLipper features natural finished aluminum handles with stainless steel spacers and a swappable latch. The pivots have 304 bearing surfaces and phOSPhorus bronze washers. The black finished 14C28N stainless steel clip point blade has a double tang pin design for great performance.

Nice feel to the knife. Will need to break-in time due to the stiffness of the action. Appears well built.
Hard to find a Bali in this size made in USA.

I have been looking for a bali style knife for a while now with the main factor being handle / blade length, looking for more of a EDC size, with a shorter overall length even though I will never carry it, just like the looks/feel. I bought this knife specifically because it fit into that category and I wanted to see it. The coating on the blade is pretty rough aggresive textured… read more much more like a survival knife with baked on coating, that does not bother me, I was just worried with this rough textured coating would the rest of the fit and finish be rough and unrefined. It was just the opposite, handles and bearings are super smooth and tight, great feel. I see what the only other person who reviewed this knife means about the latch wearing, the thing is, its probably not the latch but the stop pins on the blade, its oversized and when the aluminum handle detent area wears the latch will loose its force against it (Because they fit it so well Im sure the handles flex enough to make it catch tight). I don't know if I will ever see that problem seeing how I plan to put it back into the box/fabric bag it comes in and put it with the rest of my odd ball higher end collection. I will say I liked it enough upon first five minutes of viewing it I told myself I would buy another to have two......that being said, I'll probably buy another next week thinking I'll actually use it but when it arrives it will be so clean and nice it will just go sit with the first one which is specially for collecting.

The only thing holding this one back from a 5 star is the latch wears quick and becomes unreliable. But it's smooth action and blade are awesome for the price.
