The Knives built by Ek Commando Knife Company immediately built a reputation for the use in utility and close quarters Combat, and eventually found their way into the posession of Franklin D. Roosvelt, George S. Patton, and others. In 2015, Ka-Bar purchased the Ek Commando Knife Co., and in an effort to preserve the legacy, still manufactures Ek branded Knives.
