Stablised wood is tReated in a vacuum chamber to impregnate the wood with a special resin that fills all of the voids in the wood. Once heated then finished this process makes the wood completely dimensionally stable with no chance to warp, shrink or crack. This process adds considerably to the cost of the wood but ensure you have a knife that could be handed down for generations to come.
