Its Rated X!
So I bought on sale for $299 and at same time I got a Microtech Troodon from blade HQ also. This review on Piranha will be more of a comparison to the Troodon and you will see why when reading. Both around same price (Microtech was discounted because box damaged). Decisions decisions! After giving heavy thought being a devout Piranha owner, I returned it and here is why... size… read more does matter at times when using as an EDC and having to use in a defensive situation. The Troodon has a wider, thicker, and very slightly longer blade. Blade play between the two were the same- very minimal. Quality of steel- same although different types. The main reason f returning the Rated X really comes down to- can afford (2) $300+ knives at same time. If I couldve kept it though, I definitely wouldve. I liked the ergonomics and sleek design over the Troodon also. The customer service between both companies is bar none the best. This was a very tough decision to make quite honestly. Im sure the Piranha will go to a good home after I send it back to Blade HQ, as they are now out of stock on it!
