The handle is comprised of black brass.Elijah Isham is at it again, this time working with CIVIVI to bring you the Anthropos folding knife. It features G-10 and carbon fiber scales over stainless steel liners. The low profile fLipper tab hides in the handle when the knife is open; which, by the way, is buttery smooth, thanks to the ball-bearing pivot system. The up-swept blade is ready to take on any everyday cutting task. Pick up a solid EDC performer with the CIVIVI Anthropos.

Decent but could be better.
I bought this knife on sale. The carbon fiber is way slicker than I expected. The knife could really use more grip. The action is good although at first it was a bit sticky. The biggest issue I had was it came out of the box way dull. It's almost like they put the initial grind on it and then forgot to polish. I fixed this issue with about 10 minutes on the Edge Pro and the D2 sharpened… read more nicely. The body of the knife also gets a bit thick with the liners and the thick carbon fiber panels on the outside. I wish bladehq would take pictures of their knives so the thickness could be seen easily. I think their are better knives in this price point ie. Kershaw Link with 20CV.
Birthday blade
Bought this as a birthday present for my Dad, but I had to try it out first. Light weight, sleek design, fits the hand well. The tiny flipper took some practice getting it to open up all the way. I enjoyed the feel of the handle with the carbon fiber, very smooth. It's a neat design.
Amazing action
This knife is really pretty to look at, really great ergos, and the action is off the charts, but that's to be expected with a Civivi. Great knife for a fun and even classy carry.
Decent blade
Civivi does an excellent job with their blades and this is no exception. Solid carbon fiber that looks and feels great. Light weight and beautiful blade. The blade itself is actual Damascus and isn’t just an etched pattern. The steel on the Damascus is 440 which is a little less than ideal for using. I would prefer a better steel but the price is the price. It’s solid Damascus… read more with a pattern weld that can be seen even in the non etched portions. If I chose again I would like something in D2 or the likes for the price. The other issue is in the flipper function. It actually hurts to flip when it’s done successfully as it’s a little sharp. The size of the flipper is great for fitting in the pocket but it’s pretty terrible in regards to function as a flipper. You have to almost dig in a fingernail to get it to function. After some practice I’ve found middle finger flips are the most ideal which is a little odd but it works.
Beautiful Design
The knife is nothing short of beautiful. Being an Elijah Isham design, though, beauty is a given. It feels incredible in my hands, with no noticeable sharp edges, or "hot spots". For reference, I comfortable fit into medium-sized latex gloves, and can /almost/ fit into small's.
The deployment is relatively easy to fail, sadly, and there are two reasons for that: 1. the placement…

of the flipper tab, and 2. the strong detente. I am sure over time, the deployment will become a little more consistent as the knife is broken in.
The biggest disappointment of this knife, for me at least, is that the color is not nearly as vibrant in person as it is in the pictures. The orange is a good-deal darker, which is incredibly disappointing, because I bought this particular knife primarily for its color scheme.
Looks great, not great for larger hands
This knife looks great and is a nice little slicer. However, the handle is just too small for my large(ish) hands. The flipper tab is definitely very abrasive... perhaps touching it on a polishing stone might help? Though I think this knife is a good value for the cost, I ultimately gave it away to someone else. If you have larger hands (7" + from heal to tip of middle finger),… read more the Plethiros is a better fit.
I like the look
I like Elijah Isham's designs and I own a couple, so I thought about getting this one. Orange is one of my favorite colors so the orange highlights with the carbon fiber scales was a nice look. The flipper is a little stiff and I trust it will loosen up with use.
Love Hate Relationship
After having this knife for a solid 2 month, I have to say that I’m disappointed.
While the visual appearance of the knife is sleek and unique, and the ergonomics of the handle are comfortable, there are many structural flaws. To start, the vertical flipper is extremely small and designed with very abrasive gimping on it (something that isn’t described). Over the first few…

weeks of using the knife, you will have to build a painful callus on your pointer finger. In turn, the detent ball sits very deep in its hole making the blade sticky and difficult to deploy. Once past the detent ball, the blade has fairly smooth action to the opening position and has a solid lockup. Unfortunately, this will be short lived as the blade centering is constantly moving out of place requiring readjustment of the pivot screw every few days. I currently own and have handled many knives within this price range. This knife does not feel or function towards what it costs. In conclusion, this knife is a love, hate relationship.
Worth every penny
This is a great EDC. It feels lighter than 3.2oz , weight is very even, great grip, and looks even better in person! Gonna be hard to keep this out of my pocket. Lock up is like 50%. Basically a Rat 2 but looks way better. The flipper takes some time to get use to, and a very strong detent.
Not a favorite
Parts and build are fine as usual for this brand; however, this model has a couple of issues:
1. If you have large hands, the handle is probably too small and the finger choil is not really deep enough if you choose to use it.
2. I like the deep carry clips, but If ever a knife needed a short clip this is the one! The clip pokes your hand and that's irritating. Why such a…

long clip for such a small knife?
3. Yes, you can open the blade with the triangle shaped cutout, but it's positioned too close to the handle. My thumb bumps the handle whenever I try to roll the blade out.
This is a real design miss in my opinion and is going back.
Another homerun with a twist.
Another great CIVIVI, this time with the added bonus of an Isham design. Again it's thin behind the edge, .015, something that is making CIVIVI one of my favorites. The weird, tiny flipper tab actually works fine, the triangle blade cut out is only for slow rolling open. Great action, ergonomics, A+ fit and finish.
Decided to add this after many complaints I've heard about the…

grip, I wear size L gloves and have no problem getting all my fingers on the grip, even in the handshake grip position. If you're thumb is hitting the scales while using the thumb hole, lower your thumb until it doesn't do this. This is a decorative feature anyway, or should I go knock some stars off my Spyderco Ikuchi because I can't use the spyderhole to open it?
